10 Des Moines Wedding Venues

Looking for wedding venues in Des Moines, Iowa? Trust me when I say I know looking for a wedding venue can be stressful. There are tons of great venues out there, right? So – how do you narrow down which wedding venue is the right one for you? Allow me to help! As an Iowa wedding photographer, I have had the privilege to photograph weddings in stunning venues all across the Des Moines area. With that, I created a list of Des Moines Wedding venues to help you narrow down your search! 1. Rollins Mansion

Rollins Mansion is a stunning, historic mansion located right in the heart of Des Moines. From a photographer’s perspective, this wedding venue in Des Moines has ample picture-perfect locations that add character and charm to every photo. Rollins Mansion has an area for outdoor ceremonies and receptions.

2. Harpor’s Vineyard

If you’re looking for a stunning venue, getting ready space for both the bride and groom, as well as seriously the best staff you’ll ever find – consider having your wedding at Harpor’s Vineyard. With under an hour of drive time from Des Moines, this quaint vineyard allows you to get out of the city while still having access to all the accommodations in Des Moines. Summertime weddings at Harpor’s are some of my favorites to photograph. With all of the vineyards growing and the fresh Iowa crops growing, you can’t go wrong. I genuinely cannot recommend Harpor’s Vineyard enough to any couple planning their dream wedding! It is truly stunning.

3. Summerset Winery – Indianola

Summerset Winery is another stunning winery right outside of Des Moines. Perfect for an outdoor wedding, this venue has a setup with the vineyards surrounding the ceremony space. One of my favorite things about this venue is getting to sneak the bride and groom out for some portraits during golden hour.

4. The Loft, Des Moines Wedding Venue

If you’re looking for an urban wedding venue in Des Moines, the Loft might be perfect for you. With its city feel, the Loft is absolutely stunning for any wedding. I had the privilege of photographing one of my first weddings at the Loft and cannot wait to come back to photograph more couples getting married here. From the lights to the perfectly planned decorations, The Loft in Des Moines is definitely one of my all time favorite Iowa wedding venues. You can’t go wrong!

5. Bash Events and Catering – Des Moines Venue

Bash Events and Catering is located in the heart of downtown Des Moines. If location matters to you, Bash is perfect! One of my favorite features is the beautiful rooftop – perfect for golden hour photos of the bride and groom. This Des Moines venue is perfect for smaller, more intimate weddings with an urban feel to them.

6. Irishman Acres – Bondurant, Iowa

Irishman Acres is a brand new wedding venue located in Bondurant, Iowa. With a 20 minute drive from Des Moines, this venue has the perfect small town feel without being too far from the city. I love the big wooden frame of this barn. Additionally, all the details are seriously amazing. Any bride and groom would be lucky to have their wedding at this stunning Des Moines wedding venue! I can’t wait to document wedding days at this sweet Iowa wedding venue!

7. The Iowa Taproom

Another one of my first weddings was located in the Iowa Taproom. Also located in the heart of Des Moines (right next to Molly’s Cupcakes…yum!), the Iowa Taproom is half restaurant, half wedding venue. Couples can have both their ceremony and reception here. Honestly, their food is amazing and the venue is gorgeous! Iowa Taproom is a great choice for your Des Moines wedding for sure!

8. The Pinnacle Club at Otter Creek Golf Course

A little outside the box – the Pinnacle Club is located in Ankeny. While it’s not ideal for hosting a ceremony, it might be the perfect place for your reception. I loved getting to sneak my bride and groom out onto the golf course for some golden hour portraits! Aren’t they stunning?!

9. The Tea Room

While I haven’t been lucky enough to photograph a wedding at the Tea Room *yet*, I have attended a few weddings here and it’s absolutely stunning. One of my favorite features of this Des Moines Venue is the balcony features. Right in the heart of Des Moines, this venue has tons of unique photo opportunities. Not to mention the large space holds tons of guests!

10. Salisbury House

Similar to Rollins Mansion, Salisbury House is a historic mansion with a beautiful garden right in Des Moines. For this venue, think luxurious dinner party vibes. It makes for a stunning venue any couple would seriously love! I would love to get to photograph a wedding at this venue. Who knows – maybe yours!

11. The Surety Hotel

Located in downtown Des Moines, the Surety Hotel holds weddings. If you’re looking for a wedding venue in Des Moines that is modern, located in central Des Moines, and has stunning details, try the Surety. As a wedding photographer, this venue is completely perfect for photos. It is close to tons of different sceneries. Not only that, but it also has amazing details all throughout the venue.
