Josh & Patricia’s Summertime Colorado Springs Elopement

When it comes to planning elopements, this Garden of the Gods elopement was one for the books. Josh and Patricia decided to ditch the big wedding and to elope instead in Colorado Springs. With their closest family members as witnesses, these two said their vows with the beautiful Colorado mountains in the background. Although it was a hot day, the photos were worth it!

Best places to Elope in Colorado

So, you’ve decided you want to elope? Amazing! I am all for ditching the big weddings (although I truly love both!!) and finding a beautiful location you love. One of the best parts of eloping in Colorado is that you don’t need an officiant! In fact, Colorado is one of the few states that you don’t need an official officiant or even witnesses to sign off on your marriage license. If you wanted to, you could even have your pup sign the license for you! Crazy, right?

Rocky Mountain National Park

Rocky Mountain National Park is one of my all time favorite locations for elopements, and for good reason. Not only is it relatively close to the Denver Airport, but it also has so many stunning options surrounding the area. Whether you choose to get married in the park, or want to get married somewhere nearby, there’s plenty of options for you! I am so excited to be photographing a wedding in Rocky Mountain National Park in July!

Maroon Bells, Colorado

Another stunning location is Maroon Bells, Colorado. Specifically, the amphitheater, which can be rented for only $150 is the perfect ceremony location. I’ll be photographing a wedding in Maroon Bells next week and could not be more excited for it!

Just like Josh & Patricia, you could choose to elope in Garden of the Gods park in Colorado Springs. If you’re looking for lots of red rocks as the background, Garden of the Gods might be perfect for you!
