Anyone else get teary eyed at every single first look? I know my hand is RAISED. Taylor and Jon’s first look was so stinkin’ sweet. As a cherry on top, we got to sneak out to Toast’s rooftop balcony so their first look incorporated the stunning black beams that makes Toast so unique!
Thinking of doing a first look? I always recommend doing your private vows right after, like this couple did! It allows you to soak the day in, have a private moment, and get it all documented in the sweetest way. Wasn’t this first look adorable?! So memorable!

When it comes to bridal party photos, I am for sure a sucker for all the fun ones! I love having the bridal party hype the bride and groom up! Toast was the perfect Iowa wedding venue for this! We got to have the whole bridal party on the roof under the black beams for a European-style photo shoot! So unique! Additionally, any wedding venue that has outdoor space is a yes from me!

Taylor and I met our freshman year of college and UNI and quickly became friends, then roommates too! I had a front row seat to watching she and Jon’s story unfold. Truly, there is nothing sweeter than watching your friends fall in love. Except maybe getting the honor of documenting their wedding day?! Seriously so grateful to have been invited by these sweet friends to photograph their big day at Toast! While the day turned out to be a bit rainy, Taylor and Jon didn’t let that stop them from having their dream day! We embraced the rain! Luckily, Toast also has plenty of indoor options, so the rain was no problem. A day celebrating the Henry’s at Toast in Ankeny was truly a dream day.
