Helena and Derek chose to do their downtown Houston engagement photos in the most stunning venue! Needless to say, they created the perfect “old money” style, vintage engagement session. Helena and Derek seriously rocked this session. Their love was absolutely evident and the images we created were some of my all time favorite photos.
We had so much fun trying out every corner of this downtown Houston venue! From the lighting to the unique character of the building, this session was simply perfect. Based on these engagement photos, you’d seriously think they were taken in Europe or Spain because of the architecture! I don’t think I’ll ever be over them 😉

Plus, Houston also has lakes, beaches, and rivers nearby! Additionally, there are so many locations with a variety of character. As a Houston wedding photographer, I cannot recommend your engagement session in Houston enough!
When is the best time of year for outdoor photos in Houston?
When looking to do outdoor photos in Houston, the best time of year is typically March-June and October-November! During these months, the temperatures are typically warm but not quite in the 90-100 degrees! Humidity in Houston can be brutal, so avoiding those hot summer months will be best in order to avoid dripping sweat during your engagement session.
If you’re wanting engagement photos in the summer months, though, you can always take them indoors! There are so many incredible photo studios and unique venues (like this one!) to choose from. In summary, Houston is beautiful year round, but the best time for outdoor photos in Houston is in the spring and fall!
