At the same time, though, it’s hard to keep track of all of them! Don’t worry! I’ve put together this blog post to help you easily find the newest wedding venues in Iowa. Below is a list of the brand new venues for your Iowa wedding! Be sure to head to their websites and social medias to see the progress. With the new nature, not all of them are finished. I’m excited to see the end product and to see so many happy couples start their forever at each one.

#1 – Willow on Grand
Looking for a new wedding venue in the Des Moines area? We’ll start with this one! Meet Willow on Grand! A modern, timelessly decorated wedding venue. Not only is it brand new, but it’s a beauty! From the white walls to the cottage-inspired design, wedding days are surely gorgeous at this brand new venue! Over the last year that Willow on Grand has been open, the Alecca Synclair Photography team has been able to document a few of the sweetest days at this new Iowa venue! Willow on Grand is located in the Waterbury neighborhood of Des Moines, Iowa. The exact address you can find this beautiful venue is 6011 Grand Avenue, Des Moines, IA 50312.

How do I narrow it down?! Willow on Grand has stunning natural light (aka a photographer’s dream Iowa wedding venue for sure!). Additionally, it has an intentionally made indoor and outdoor space. Not only is it perfect for outdoor summertime weddings in Iowa, but it’s beautiful in the winter too! Personally, I love the built in champagne wall + bridal suite, too!
When was Willow on Grand Started?
The Willow on Grand was officially announced on Instagram in October of 2021. They have since opened their doors, hosted Des Moines wedding days, and even fun events for the community! Be sure to reach out to them to find out more!
#2 – The Monroe Wedding Venue
Another stunning new wedding venue in Iowa is the Monroe! The Monroe is a newly renovated venue in West Des Moines, Iowa. Offerings of the Monroe include: a stunning indoor and outdoor space perfect for any wedding or event!

The Monroe is located in West Des Moines, Iowa at the address of 1805 90th St. West Des Moines, IA.

What makes the Monroe unique? Firstly, it is designed elegantly, for sure! Additionally, the venue has stunning natural light, a uniquely designed space, and photo opportunities around every corner! Personally, I adore the design of the built-in bar!
When was The Monroe Wedding Venue Started?
The Monroe was started by a company that also owns a venue in Kansas City, which was started in 2017! Then, they decided to open up a DSM location in 2022!
#3 – Walnut Ridge Venue
Walnut Ridge is another one of the newest wedding venues in Iowa! Located 20 minutes north of Cedar Rapids, this venue is a beauty! While Walnut Ridge is not open yet, it plans to open in spring of 2023. So exciting!! Because the Walnut Ridge is not yet open, I cannot speak to the features. However, I have a feeling they will be absolutely stunning! Reach out to the Walnut Ridge to inquire for your day!

Walnut Ridge is located in Shellsberg, Iowa which is about 50 minutes from Iowa City! The address is 6051 32nd Ave, Shellsburg, IA 52332. If you’re looking for a wedding venue near Iowa City, definitely consider Walnut Ridge for your big day!
#4 – Rolling Meadows
Rolling Meadows is a wedding venue near the Quad Cities and is brand new! Rolling Meadows opened their doors in 2023 + have been hosting wedding days in Eldride, Iowa since! When it comes to the Quad Cities, there honestly aren’t a ton of venue options. Luckily, this one is opening and looks like it will be a great Iowa venue option!
Some of my favorite features of Rolling Meadows include the stunning architecture, large windows, and ample space for wedding guests! Not to mention I live close by and love photographing weddings at Rolling Meadows! 😉

Where is Rolling Meadows Wedding Venue Located?
The Rolling Meadows wedding and event center is located in Eldridge, Iowa. It’s about a 15 minute drive from the Quad Cities. Additionally, Rolling Meadows is only an hour drive from Iowa City. Consider booking this brand new venue for your Quad Cities or Iowa City area wedding day!

#5 – The Midnight Gem
Last but certainly not least on the list of brand new wedding venues in Iowa is the Midnight Gem. This wedding venue is in Swisher, Iowa. Interestingly, it’s quite the contract from the average Iowa wedding venue with it’s all-black exterior!

Personally, I adore all of the character this new Iowa venue has to offer! It includes a large covered area for outdoor ceremonies. No worries about rain at this venue! The space is best for 200-250 guests. Additionally, there are two suites on site for getting ready and ample room to decorate your dream wedding however you’d like! I have multiple weddings booked at the Midnight Gem already, and cannot wait to photograph them! If you need a photographer for your wedding here, reach out!
Should You Book one of the Newest Wedding Venues in Iowa?
While there are more uncertainties with booking a new wedding venue, there are also a lot of benefits. Firstly, some venues offer discounts for the first couples to book their venue! Secondly, each of these new Iowa wedding venues are hands down- stunning. While some of the wedding venues in Iowa tend to be a little outdated, these venues certainly are not. My advice? Inquire with the venues you love! Ask lots of questions and go for an in person tour (I cannot recommend that enough). At the end of the day, book a venue you feel confident in and are excited to get married at!
